The curriculum at HD Foundation School encompasses wide spectra and is interwoven. Learning happens in various ways and through different means. At HDFS, we understand learning not as academics and beyond academics but learning as a whole that Literacy development involves encouraging children to link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write.takes place in different forms and in a very interdependent way.
Key Elements
- Communication and language involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves.
- Personal, social and emotional development involves helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves, and others; to form positive relationships and developed respect for others.
- Literacy development involves encouraging children to link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write.
- Mathematics involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems; and to describe shapes, spaces, and measures.
- Understanding the world involves guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment.
- Expressive arts and design involves providing opportunities and encouragement to children for sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in art, music, movement, dance, role-play, and design and technology.
- Physical development involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices and relation to food to food.
In order to make sure the Curriculum is planned, executed and implemented to meet this highly demanding Key Elements, we have mentors who guide and assist the faculty and teachers to achieve the best possible results.
Facilities
- The School sports a well-stocked open-shelf library. A wide variety of children's literature can always be accessed by the children.
- Considering the growing demands of Information and Communication Technology and the need for children to be able to keep up with it from a very young age, the school makes extensive use of child-friendly I.C.T. Games and Teaching Aids.
- An extensive range of well-researched educational and playing equipment are provided to the children at all times. As such children have easy access to a wide variety of excellent and high-quality educational toys to correspond with their learning.
